Pinot Nero, Cantina Lavis
Description
The Pinot Nero grape, of French origin, enjoys an ideal habitat in various areas of Trentino. Grown mainly in the foothill vineyards of Lavis and Giovo, it reaches full maturity only after a long period on the vine.
Light ruby red in colour, the wine has an intense bouquet with hints of sweet and morello cherry, and a pleasant and characteristic lingering aroma of forest fruits. It is delicate and fruity, with dense, silky tannins that deliver a full and agreeably lasting taste.

Producer Details
The Lavis wine-makers cooperative traces its origins to 1850, when the Cembran family built the initial core of the current production unit. It was officially formed in 1948 by 14 independent wine-makers and grew in the years that followed. The terrain of the vineyards is a complex jumble of hills, hollows and steep slopes where the grape varieties are cultivated on small plots of land.
