Biere de Coupage, Brasserie de la Senne

Biere de Coupage

Description

This beer uses an ancient and typical Belgian technique called ‘coupage’: the blend of a sour beer with a young ale. The sour beer we used is 2 years-old Lambic from Cantillon, in order to celebrate the Quintessence 25 event. The result is a 6,2% abv amber beer, with an appealing tartness and a deep, complex vinous character.

Producer Details

Brasserie de la Senne is a brewery in Brussels, Belgium, named for the river Senne which flows through the city. De La Senne is the initiative of Bernard Leboucq and Yvan De Baets. Leboucq and De Baets do everything themselves, using traditional methods. The beers are neither filtered nor pasteurised, and no additives are added. The philosophy of the brewers is to brew beers that are characterful, but not necessarily strong.
